The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is an independent, international non-profit organisation that manages the world’s leading certification for responsible and sustainable aquaculture. ASC works with seafood processors, conservation groups, retail and food services, scientists and aquaculture producers to ensure sustainable aquaculture practices now and in the future. ASC also safeguards that the social rights and safety of those who work at an aquaculture facility and live in the local communities are protected.
Aquaculture facilities that have been granted certification on their products can demonstrate that cleaner discharge water and healthier animals are being produced. Following the strict guidelines of the standard, Pacific Reef Fisheries ensure that no impact is occurring to the surrounding biodiversity and local/state communities.
